Mascots Petition
I know we've got bigger problems at the moment, but during the "winter break" please sign my petition to make mascots free at West Ham again.

Total they make from these is less than half of the pay rise Brady got, it's not on!

They will make a big thing about it in the hope of calming down some of the hatred against them.

I'm pretty sure it WON'T change.

Every shilling is a prisoner to these tight-arsed cunts.

Plus imagine if it went out to a ballot? A Cockney child from an underprivileged West Ham supporting family might win which I'm pretty sure would contravene FA rules.

Matt Law covering GSB's wankerdom about this issue in The Telegraph today. The good press keeps on coming!

Re: Mascots Petition
Yeah, I'm not sure they care either, unless they are shamed into making a change.

As long as they have a waiting list of mascots whose parents are willing to, or talked into spending the money, then that's all that matters.

Re: Mascots Petition
If they are so desperate fir the money put 1.50 on the price of a ticket. Make mascots free

Simple

El Scorchio 6:12 Tue Feb 11
Re: Mascots Petition
Why do that when you could add £1.50 to the ticket price AND keep charging for mascots?

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Re: Mascots Petition
You need to get the parents to stop signing up / putting their childs name down.

What about getting one of the mascots to put on one of those GSB Out T-shirts on the pitch?

Re: Mascots Petition
How can it cost anything to be a mascot? Why try to earn from that?

The experience should be free, where the lucky kids are chosen from season ticket holders kids and junior season ticket holders and claret kids members. At least 1 free ticket per kid for their parent or guardian, and they should keep the kit for free.

Even before TV money, but especially in the age of obscene TV money and players’ wages, it is disgraceful to charge even a penny for what should be considered an investment by the club for hooking new supporters for life.

700 notes! Fucking hell!

I know, I think it's disgusting. Was lucky enough to be mascot in 1998 and was free of charge and for parents as well. Only thing they had to pay for was the kit.

£700 is a complete joke! Hoping this petition can kick on over the next few weeks and put even more pressure on them. As mentioned below though, hope they don't do it and think that all is rosey. Bigger issues still being addressed by Hammers United!

I did suggest that for Sarge jr for the Brighton game - it didn't go down well.

It's no value at all from a parents perspective - £550 for a 2nd tier game (like Brighton) - we get a whistle stop tour (not the changing rooms) - 10 minutes pitch side whilst the kids 'train' (I got done twice for treading on the pitch - unlimited tea + coffee.

Says it all that the third bullet in the literature is you get 'the opportunity to buy two further tickets in addition to the two you get as a package'

However - ask Sarge jr what he thought and he'll talk to you for ages about it. The smile on his face when we told him - the excitement of the day - and walking out to bubbles - he'll never forget it.

Am I a mug for paying it - partly - but I'm lucky enough to have the pennies to pay for it - and it'll be something that my son will treasure for the rest of his life.

That's exactly it. They don't NEED that money at all - but if they can make £150k a season from absolutely nothing then they're always going to do it.

I actually get the feeling that they may scrap this when they come up with ways to appease the masses. Now they're getting bad press for it they'll see it as £150k well spent to score points with us.

They’ve already said they’ll put 3 free ones out.

That’ll be that on that I expect.

G&S got a shooing on TS over this earlier, they had the Brighton CEO on and even he said charging £700 for this was profiteering.

So good to see them being brought up on every shitty thing they do. Shame on them for having so many examples to highlight

Precisely the mindset we want them out for, it's too late if they make this free, they will look for other ways to squeeze their 'customers' like premium phone lines etc.

"It costs nothing"

Do you know how much they had to pay Arnie not to headbutt kids who "looked at him funny"?

Agree they should cut the fee entirely now he's gone, though.

Re: Mascots Petition
I did it when there were only 3 mascots.
Got looked after and in the dressing room with the players. it was excellent.

now is a joke with what 12 mascots and at 700 a go is pathetic from the club:

This is the game we did it.
